LPN become a legal nurse consultantI have been looking to getting a legal nurse consulting certification. Can you provide information on whether a person that is an LPN can become a legal nurse consultant or LNC?

Also if you have any more information can you tell me what program offers you the ability to become an RN in 6 months or less? I’d like to get my nursing degrees as soon as possible.

Answers that were provided:

ANSWER ONE:
If the program is credible they are most likely going to require or prefer someone that is already an RN or a BSN. Even when people have those certifications it is still hard to get jobs in the legal nurse consultant field because experience is often required.

ANSWER TWO:

I am 100% certain that if you are currently an LPN or after you acquire your certification for LPN you will have problems becoming an RN after 6 months part-time.

ANSWER THREE:

Once you have obtained your LPN certification (Licensed Practical Nurse) it is up to you to start to build your career and expertise as a consultant. Whether you will be successful or not depends on your own person experience. The rate you charge and whether different companies will choose you as a consultant weights heavily on your past experience in nursing, legal / courtroom experience and obviously where you are located. Different states have different demands for legal nurse consultants. California is a big state for legal nurse consulting. It will come down to branding yourself well and marketing your services to be a successful legal nurse consultant. Don’t think that you must be certified to be a legal nurse consultant. While it may help you land certain clients to have the certification it’s not required for you to practice as a LNC. Build your confidence and legal knowledge by self study and specialize in as tight of niches as you can in the medical field and you will find yourself making a higher pay as a LNC. I’ve never actually heard of any RN programs that you can make it through in just six months. Remember to go for quality and not speed. Enjoy your foray in the legal nurse consulting field, it can be a very promising career field.
