General Duties:
Investigate, interpret, and analyze written appeals and grievances and subsequent correspondence
Directly respond to appeals and grievances with original letters, complex and technical in nature, upholding corporate policies and decisions
Prepare the written case for review by compiling clinical, contractual, medical policy and claims information along with Corporate appellant correspondence
Investigate and analyze the case information and formulate recommendations for disposition
Interact and respond to Regulatory Agency inquiries and legal interrogations
Organize and prepare responses to interrogatories for presentation to Legal and Legislative Affairs, and if called upon to do so, testify on behalf of the Corporation at legal hearings
Required:
Appeals background
Experience in the Insurance Industry
Professional written and verbal communications skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, LotusNotes, SharePoint and Microsoft
Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Assist lead attorney in preparing contracts, templates, editing and revising contracts, reviewing contracts for regulatory compliance. Assist lead attorney in conducting research geared towards supporting the goals of the business. Work with others around the organization to achieve maximum outcomes for the business. Help build infrastructure related to the legal requirements of the business. Analyze state and federal law, Medicare regulations and secondary sources for use in preparing research grids. 5+ years in a legal or compliance setting
Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certification
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
